Teachable launches public API, helping course creators run their business with greater ease and improved scalability

“Today, creators use Teachable for its best experience in creating and delivering courses. As they grow, they will likely use multiple external platforms to meet new business needs. Our goal is to ensure they have the freedom to access and integrate these best solutions through our API,” said Marc Haseltine, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Teachable. “This launch is a natural extension of our founding belief in creator autonomy. We are always looking to make it even easier for our creators to evolve in the way that works best for them.”

Teachable’s core public API functionality includes:

  • Data sharing—Creators can now easily integrate their data with a variety of tools that help them manage and grow their business. For example, they can connect to their favorite sales tracker to clearly see the impact of their Teachable courses within their larger business ecosystem.
  • Workflow Automation—Creators can reduce manual work and provide a smoother experience for their students by automating tasks. For example, they can connect their favorite email marketing tool and automate communications with students, or automate the process of registering students for their courses.
  • Custom apps—Creators can work with a developer to set up a custom app. This allows them to easily display their school and Teachable courses on their own personalized websites, and any updates to their courses will automatically update wherever it is embedded.

The API further strengthens Teachable as a creator-focused platform. As creators learn more about scaling their business, as well as the changing needs of their students, it’s imperative that they retain the choice of tools that will best serve their needs. growth. Unleashing this kind of flexibility better allows Teachable to grow with creators as they progress through their professional journeys.

“We’re launching our public API because we believe in creator control. It’s as simple as that,” Haseltine continued. “Over the past year, we have seen significant growth in the number of Teachable Creators earning a healthy, full-time income on our platform. We believe this launch only furthers our ability to empower Creators from all walks of life to transform their knowledge and passions into a lasting career.”

Teachable’s public API is available to creators on the Pro and Business plans. More information about the API can be found in Teachable’s Documentation center. Interested creators can also Register to attend an introductory webinar on Thursday June 9, where they will learn more about what an API is and how to use it with their course or coaching business.
