New Transit to Trails in Town shuttle service

PARK CITY, Utah – Following the success of the Transit to Trails pilot program, Summit Land Conservancy, Park Municipal and Utah Mountain Shuttle continue to collaborate with a new shuttle service called Public transportation to city trails.

The new routes will offer a free shuttle service from 1376 Munchkin Road to the Armstrong Trail Starting Point, McPolin Farm, and the Starting point of the creek trail week ends.

The objective of the project is “to enrich the life of the public, to preserve our landscapes and to reduce congestion on the roads and the departures of paths”.

The first day of the new service is Saturday September 11. It will run until Halloween.

In the fall, the Summit Land Conservancy wanted to offer more offers to hikers and cyclists in the city.

Summit Land Conservancy executive director Cheryl Fox said she specifically wanted to alleviate parking issues at the start of trails where there isn’t a lot of capacity. She said not having to deal with congestion adds to the “overall experience.”

She added that Armstrong Trailhead is also particularly beautiful in the fall, when the aspens transition.

Instructions for booking a ride are provided below. Fox said to make sure you take the correct shuttle. There will be no full signage this weekend due to the rapid rollout of the program.
